The International Max Planck Research School on Adapting Behavior in a Fundamentally Uncertain World (Uncertainty School) ran from 2007 until 2018. More than 50 PhD students successfully defended their thesis and work now mainly in academic positions worldwide.

In Jena the Uncertainty School was part of the Jena Graduate School Human Behaviour in Social and Economic Change, and in particular cooperating with the Graduate College The Economics of Innovative Change.
